December 2022 Main Meeting
Our last Main meeting for 2022, was via Zoom, with Alex showing a wide range of technologies, including smart watches, robot pets (example shown below), and virtual reality glasses. He also discussed the latest, very fast processors being developed by Qualcomm.
November 2022 Main Meeting
Alex was on hand to present this month’s main meeting in our club rooms, together with Zoom conferencing for those at home. With so many new tech devices currently being released, Alex focused mainly on those from Google, shown here and Apple, before answering a number of members questions.
October 2022 Main Meeting
Among the many items Alex presented from Hong Kong to this month's Main meeting was the iPhone14 Pro with the new "Crash Detection" feature, which alerts authorities via satellite of the phone's location if involved in a crash situation.
September 2022 Main Meeting
President Steve South conducted this month’s meeting live at SMSA and via Zoom, with discussions on a number of products and various topics, plus member’s views on closing some SIGs with low attendances.
Alex, though not being able to attend for personal reasons, provided a pre-recorded video highlighting Apple’s new range of iPhones, Watches and AirPods which will be available in Australia later this month.
August 2022 Main Meeting
Among the many items Alex presented at this month's Main meeting was the latest Apple MacBook Air with new M2 chip and magnetic fail-safe power connections. Also the new Google Pixel 6A, a "mid-range" priced phone with Google's most advanced processor inside was shown.
July 2022 Main Meeting
This month Dean Williams, a Dark Web and Norton 360 expert from NortonLifeLock was on-hand to show us the new 360 Advance.
👑 June 2022 Main Meeting 🇬🇧
Alex began by showing glimpses of the new iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watch, Apple TV and Home Pod announced a few hours earlier at Worldwide Developer Conference.
For the “Star trek” fans, Alex then showed a short video of the Orville Season 3 version which has started airing the show on SBS and SBS On-Demand! He then followed on by reviewing a wide range of other products and topics.
May 2022 Main Meeting
Among the many items Alex presented at our May main meeting was Acer’s new range of "Next Generation" devices. Amongst the collection was this Predator Helios 300 SpatialLabs Edition 3D that allows the user to view the screen display in 3D without special glasses. Very cool 👍.
Alex also showed highlights of Google's latest I/O conference, Apple’s new accessibility features, The BOM Weather app’s surprising new feature and lots more before finishing with a Q & A session.
April 2022 Main Meeting
Alex showed the new developments from Ancestry and My Heritage, then an app called "Switch to Android". Next was DuckDuckGo's new beta privacy browser, then ZapBatt – the new Lithium Titanate battery was discussed and lots more.
March 2022 Main Meeting
Matthew Tumminello, Dynabook's ANZ Product Marketing Manager told us all about the amazing 2022 Dynabook range via zoom. This brand was previously known as Toshiba.
February 2022 Main Meeting
This month we looked at the new Samsung offerings as well as the Telstra 5G modeum and Chrome's new OS. A Chrome book for any PC.
January 2022 Main Meeting
Alex visted the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Los Vagus over the new year break and gave us a rundown on some of the things he found.
